Editing Obligations

You can now update your obligations directly in the legal intelligence platform when deadlines shift, team members change, or requirements evolve.

How to edit an obligation

  1. Navigate to the Obligations section from the left sidebar
  2. Click on the obligation you want to update
  3. Click the Edit Obligation button at the top right of the screen
  4. In the modal that opens, you'll see all the editable fields for your obligation — including title, dates, responsible parties, and details
  5. Click Save to apply your updates

What you can change

When you edit an obligation, you can modify the following fields:

Title: Update the obligation name to better reflect the requirement

Next Due Date: Change when the obligation needs to be completed

Repeats: Adjust how often the obligation recurs (Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, Quarterly, Biannually)

Email Reminder: Sets cadence of how often email reminders are sent (weeks or days)

Obligation Details: Add or update the description and context for your obligation.

Responsible Party: Reassign or add an additional responsible party who needs to complete the obligation

Obligation Manager: Change or add an additional obligation manager to oversees the obligation

How edits are applied

When you save changes:

  • Future occurrences of recurring obligations will reflect changes.
  • Active and upcoming obligations will be updated immediately.
  • Completed obligations remain unchanged to preserve the audit trail
