Reviewing Documents with Playbook

Robin Review streamlines the contract review process by intelligently editing your documents against a predefined playbook. Robin automatically analyses clause types, identifies negotiation positions, and applies the appropriate playbook instructions. The result is a downloadable, redlined version of your document complete with suggested edits and changes making contract review faster, more consistent, and aligned with your organisation’s standards.

How to Access Review

There are two ways to access Robin Review:

Method 1:

• After logging in to Robin, you’ll land on Robin’s chat homepage.
• Either:
  • Choose Review with Playbook from the suggested next steps below the chat window; OR
  • From the chat window, click Tools then select Review with Playbook from the dropdown.

Method 2:

• From the Workspaces page, click Review with Playbook in the top right of the page.

How to use Review

• Once you’ve accessed Review, a new conversation will be started.
• You’ll be prompted to upload:
  • The .docx document you want Robin to analyse and edit; and thereafter
  • Your playbook, which can be in either .docx or .pdf format and contains your negotiation positions or instructions. You can choose whether to upload a new playbook document to Robin or select an existing playbook from your Robin Library.
• Click Start Review to begin the automatic markup process.
• Alternatively, you can add additional context and instructions to your review in addition to your playbook by clicking Provide More Instructions & Start Review.
  • The chat bar would become available and once you send the message the markup process automatically begins.
• Wait while Robin analyses your document and applies playbook positions (this may take a few minutes).
• Once processing is complete, click Download File to receive a downloadable .docx file with redlines showing all suggested edits.
• Open the document in Word to further review and edit the markup version provided by Robin as needed.
• All Robin Review conversations are saved to Workspaces and private by default (i.e only accessible by you). You can make the conversation public or invite collaborators.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What type of document should I upload for Review?

Robin Review works best with clean (non-redlined) documents. Please upload the original contract, not a version that has already been marked up.

Q: Does Robin apply multiple playbook rounds during review?

At this time, Robin applies only first round playbook positions. Additional fallback or escalation positions are not yet supported.

Q: What file formats does Review support?

Robin supports only .docx files for markup. You can upload playbooks in either .docx or .pdf formats.
