Chat with a document in Robin

Robin's chat functionality allows you to have interactive conversations with your legal documents, making contract analysis and research more efficient than ever. This guide will walk you through how to access your documents and leverage both the Ask and Research modes to get the most out of your documents.

Access the Document from the Library

  • Navigate to Documents in the Legal library and filter by group, status or type to get the desired list of documents.
  • Select the document from the list to open a detailed view of the document.

Access the Document from Search

  • Click the search bar or command-k on your keyboard.
  • Do a quick search or advanced search to locate your required document.
  • Select the document from the list to open a detailed view of the document.

Start a Chat with Your Contract

Ask

This is the default mode which enables you ask Robin any question about your documents. You can perform a broad range of actions such as asking Robin to explain terms or clauses and summarize key points contained in your document.

How to use Ask:

  • Ensure you are in Ask mode by clicking on Ask below the chat box.
  • Input your question or instructions in the chat box and click the send button.

Research

This mode enables users to research legal sources in the web while including context from your document.

How to use Research:

  • Ensure you are in Research mode by clicking on Research beneath the chat box.
  • Type your question in the chat box and click send.
  • Give Robin a few minutes to search the web in response to your question.
  • Robin will provide an answer with citations to its web sources. Click on any citation to be directed to the source webpage.
