Getting Started with Chat in Robin

Robin’s Legal Intelligence Platform opens directly into a powerful chat interface, designed to be your starting point for legal research, document analysis and document review. Whether you’re asking general legal questions or working with documents, Robin's chat provides a seamless, conversational experience.

Starting your First Conversation.

Option 1: Start with Chat (No Documents Selected)

• Begin by typing a legal question directly into the chat and click the send icon.
• A new conversation autosaved to your Workspaces will be started. You can continue the conversation, ask follow-up questions, or upload documents later to deepen the analysis.

Option 2: Start by Selecting Documents

• From the chat window, click the ➕ icon to upload documents before starting your chat.
• Choose documents from:
  • Legal Library
    • Select document(s) using the check box. Used advanced filters to refine your search and locate your documents.
    • Click Add Documents in the top right to include them in your chat.
  • Your Computer
    • Select documents from your local computer.
    • Select whether to add the document(s) to the conversation or to also save them to the Legal Library.
• Once documents are added, you can begin chatting with Robin using the context of those files.
• To add more documents to the conversation repeat the steps above.

Managing Documents

To remove documents from your conversation:

• Click the document icon.
• Select the documents you want to remove.
• Click the remove option in the top right corner.

Note: you can only remove a document before you ask a question.

Using Tools

At the bottom of the chat window, click Tools to access advanced features:

• Review with a playbook – automatically generate a marked up document based on your playbook. Note this only available where you have not added a document to the chat.
• Research with legal authority – Search verified legal sources for deeper insights with clickable citation.
• Create a new table – extract information from your documents at scale in a structured table.

What Happens Next

After interacting with Robin chat, you can:

• Ask follow-up questions in the same session.
• Click citations to open the full document at the relevant clause.
• View web citations to explore source material when in Research mode.
• Share your findings with your team. Your conversation is saved in Workspaces and can be accessed later or shared with colleagues.
