Fresh Designs in Robin’s Platform Deliver End-to-End Workflow Experience

Robin’s platform enables customers to extract, structure and synthesize data from their contracts and legal documents. Whether in-house teams are accelerating the review of a single contract or managing large scale projects like regulatory compliance that involve reviewing thousands of documents, Robin AI can support all document types and all types of analysis.

The new and improved platform experience makes it even easier and faster for customers to run the end-to-end workflow of getting the relevant documents together, extracting the key information, verifying the results and taking further action where required.

Human-in-the-loop verification

Robin’s philosophy has always been to empower legal teams and other professionals in businesses with the tools to enhance their workflows with AI that has been fine-tuned for legal applications. With all AI products, it’s important to verify the information that has been surfaced, and to that end, Robin’s platform makes it simple to verify information and dive straight into the relevant sections of primary documents.

For instance, in all reports generated in Robin’s platform, customers are equipped with citations so they can understand exactly where Robin’s answers came from in the primary documents. This means that the verification step in the workflow can be managed in the platform, and all the citations to the relevant sections of the document are visible.

This demonstrates the power and comprehensiveness of the searches and synthesis of information across complex documents—Robin’s answers may reference several different sections of the document, including areas like term definitions, to answer a specific question. The AI is reading and understanding the whole document before providing the answer to each question.

No Legal AI workflow is complete without the ability to check the information that has been provided. Robin’s platform makes this experience intuitive and seamless.

Sorting and filtering

In addition to the new and improved methods for verifying information in the platform, customers can now sort and filter information in their reports. This helps to get to the heart of specific information much faster, enabling more informed decisions. Combined with the ability to choose very specific answer types, customers can structure their data and filter to get to the areas of risk or the areas that require immediate attention.

For example, one of Robin’s customers was victim of a cyber-attack. They leveraged the platform to check thousands of contracts for obligations to notify their customers in the event of a cyber-attack or data breach. By sorting the structured information that was produced, they were able to quickly understand the exact contracts where they had an obligation to notify their customers. From there they could take further action, like identifying specific contact details or understanding the exact timeline that they had to provide the notification.

Another example of a very common task for in-house legal and procurement teams is managing vendor contracts, including terms like auto-renewal provisions. Not knowing when exactly contracts renew costs businesses a lot of money if contracts needed to be terminated—or teams miss out on the opportunity to negotiate more favorable terms. Being able to get this data at scale, and produce clear, digestible reports for other teams like finance is something that can be achieved quickly across all documents. Sorting this data means that you can understand which renewals are coming up first and take the appropriate actions.

End-to-end workflows

The newly designed approach in Robin’s platform is designed to take users through every stage of the process of gathering, synthesizing and actioning data and intelligence from across all their documents. Breaking it down into more specific stages in the workflow helps to shed more context on how customers of Robin are managing these processes.

Finding the relevant documents

Robin’s platform provides a secure repository for contracts. Customers can search using specific key words across all documents, or searching through specific contract types like “Vendor Agreements” to be able to surface the relevant body of documents to get started with a piece of analysis.

From this search, users can easily “select all” the documents, or choose specific documents to carry out more detailed analysis on, get questions answered and receive structured data.

It’s also quick and simple for customers to upload contracts into Robin AI. The contract upload happens in a couple of seconds. Customers can upload PDFs or Word documents with ease so Robin can surface data and insights across all executed contract formats. There are also options for customers to bulk import documents into Robin AI for information migration or for projects like due diligence.

Structuring and synthesizing the data relevant to you

With no limitations to the types of contracts and documents that you can extract and synthesize data from, Robin AI is ideal for supporting all types of data structuring tasks. There’s a pre-built library of templates available to customers that support a range of common use cases from screening risks in Vendor Agreements to supporting large-scale audits of Franchise Agreements.

Templates can be customized to capture the exact information and answers that you’re looking for in your documents. With the help of answer types, you can get very specific answers in a structured format like dates, currencies or even yes / no answers to questions. These answer types can also be leveraged to categorize risks in documents, such as when you want to review a contract against your contract principles, guidelines or preferred positions in playbooks.

The helpful addition of answer previews means that you and the team can verify how an answer will be structured before you run the full report. This helps you to understand where you may need to refine or iterate on your approach to get the answer that you need.

Running reports in record times

Due to the scalability of Robin’s platform, which can support the review of thousands of documents at once, the information is structured and available to you very quickly. The information that has been extracted from the documents is clearly visible in a table format within the Robin AI platform. You’ll also receive an email with the report in the format that you have specified, like a Word document (useful for single document contract review processes) or an Excel sheet (useful for multi-document audits and other processes).

The table format makes it easy to dive into the specific information that you need. It can be filtered, sorted and searched to enable you to navigate the table quickly when you’ve extracted data across lots of documents at once.

Verifying information in reports

Once the report has been generated, citations will be provided that take you directly to the relevant passage in the primary document where the AI was able to generate its answer from. This seamless workflow means that you can click through all the relevant citations, understanding how and where Robin was able to generate the answer.

Often answers contain information from several parts of the document - this is common for provisions like indemnities which may have several references throughout the document. As Robin’s platform leverages LLMs to power the generation of reports, they can read and understand the whole document to answer each question, meaning that the information provided is detailed and comprehensive.

Taking further actions

From Robin’s platform, where you can review your reports and the relevant sections of the documents, you can leverage the Legal AI Assistant to help you to take action and carry out further analysis.

Whether you need to draft a notice to terminate an agreement, prepare a summary of key commercial terms for your finance team, or get plain language explanations of specific clauses, the Legal AI Assistant can support all manner of tasks directly within the platform.
