Essen, Germany – 15 October 2024 – Robin AI, the most advanced legal AI solution for business, today announced a new partnership with KÜMMERLEIN, one of the leading commercial law firms for Germany’s prestigious Mittelstand. This collaboration marks Robin AI’s first major entry into the German legal market, part of its European expansion.

KÜMMERLEIN, headquartered in the Ruhr region, is renowned for its expertise in business law, serving a diverse client base that includes large family-run businesses, large enterprises as well as financial investors. The firm, which comprises 62 lawyers, of which 12 are also notaries, was seeking a technology solution to streamline its operations, maintain its competitive edge and explore the various opportunities offered by a dedicated legal AI tool.

Robin AI uses generative AI trained on legal documents to help companies draft and edit contracts, with an in-house team of legal professionals helping to further refine the model to ensure the highest levels of quality and accuracy.

KÜMMRELEIN had previously tried several AI tools. Robin AI’s technology stood out due to its ability to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Word, allowing lawyers to work within their preferred platform without the need for additional software as well as the modular concept of the entire offering of Robin AI.

“We are delighted to partner with KÜMMERLEIN, a firm that represents the gold standard in German legal practice,” said Richard Robinson, CEO of Robin AI. “Our AI solutions are designed to meet the specific needs of firms like Kümmerlein, who demand both precision and efficiency in their legal workflows.”

KÜMMERLEIN is already using Robin AI’s intelligent contract review and drafting tools, which are powered by Anthropic’s Claude model – placing an emphasize on data security as well as on strict confidentiality requirements at the core of the chosen model. The AI assistant has proven effective in handling complex German and English-language legal documents, enabling lawyers to draft, redraft, and locate specific information within extensive texts efficiently, significantly speeding up the time taken to review or summarize contracts and other legal documents – for certain use cases by up to 90%.

The tool has been particularly beneficial for streamlining routine tasks such as summarising and translating lengthy documents. The firm’s AI task force is spearheading this adoption, recognising the importance of staying at the forefront of technological advancements in legal practice.

Maximilian Schauf, Partner at KÜMMERLEIN, said: “Our clients expect the highest standards, and Robin AI will surely help us to deliver enhanced service quality with greater efficiency. The integration has been smooth, and the support from Robin AI’s team has been exceptional, ensuring that our lawyers are well-equipped to leverage this technology.”
